Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt out of having your activity on the Service made available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visit activity.

For more information on the privacy practices of Google, please visit policies.google.com/privacy.

Payments

We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors). We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

Our current payment processors include: Authorize.net (a Visa solution) for credit and debit card transactions; and Plaid Inc. for bank-account linking, identity verification, and ACH transfers. See the dedicated "Plaid and Bank Connection Data" section below for detail on data shared with and received from Plaid.

Plaid and Bank Connection Data

If you link a bank account, complete identity verification, or pay via ACH bank transfer, we use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") as a service provider. Plaid acts as an intermediary between your bank and Standard Bullion. You are not required to share your bank login credentials with us; Plaid handles authentication directly with your financial institution.

  • What Plaid collects from you, on our behalf: bank account login credentials (held by Plaid, never transmitted to Standard Bullion), one-time multi-factor authentication codes, government-issued identification documents and selfies (for Plaid Identity Verification, "IDV"), and device information such as IP address used during the link flow.
  • What Plaid shares with Standard Bullion:
    • Account and routing numbers (for ACH transfer initiation)
    • Account holder name, address, email, and phone, as reported by your bank (for KYC and identity match)
    • Account type, subtype, and account number mask (e.g., "checking ····1234")
    • Real-time available and current balance, at the moment of checkout (for funds-availability confirmation; Standard Bullion does not receive ongoing balance updates without a separate authorization)
    • For IDV: pass / fail status and a confidence score; the underlying ID images remain at Plaid
    • For ACH transfers: a return-risk score (Plaid Signal) to help us assess transaction risk
    • Transaction history for the linked account (only if you opt into our ACH-reconciliation feature, which is currently used internally; we will update this notice if and when transactions are shared with you)
  • How we use Plaid data: to verify your identity (KYC), confirm that the bank account you link belongs to you (identity match), confirm funds availability at the moment of order placement, initiate one-time ACH debits you authorize, assess transaction risk, comply with anti-money-laundering and Bank Secrecy Act requirements, and detect fraud.
  • How long we keep Plaid data: Bank-connection metadata (institution name, account mask, last verification timestamp) is retained while your account is active and for 7 years after closure to satisfy financial-records retention requirements. The Plaid access token tied to your account can be revoked at any time by you (see "How to revoke" below); revocation immediately disables further data access by us. Plaid's own retention is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
  • Who we share Plaid data with: Standard Bullion does not sell, rent, or share data received from Plaid with any third party for marketing purposes. We may share specific data points with our fulfillment partner and our payment processor (Authorize.net, for the backup credit card path) to the extent necessary to complete your order. We may also disclose Plaid data to law-enforcement or regulatory authorities as described in the "Disclosure of Data" section above.
  • How to revoke: You can disconnect a linked bank account at any time from your account Security settings or by emailing info@standardbullion.com. Revocation does not affect the legality of processing done before revocation, and does not retroactively cancel completed ACH transactions.
  • Plaid's role and privacy policy: Plaid is a separate data controller for its own purposes (e.g., fraud-detection across Plaid's network). Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, which governs Plaid's collection, use, and sharing of your data, is available at plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy. By linking a bank account through Plaid Link, you also agree to that policy.

Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), gives you specific rights regarding your Personal Information. This section uses the term "Personal Information" with the meaning given in the CCPA/CPRA.

Categories of Personal Information we collect. In the preceding 12 months, Standard Bullion has collected the following CCPA categories of Personal Information from California consumers:

  • Identifiers — name, email, phone, mailing address, IP address, account login identifier.
  • California Customer Records (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80(e)) — name, address, telephone, government-issued ID number (from Plaid IDV), bank account and routing numbers (from Plaid bank link), credit/debit card information (held by our processor, not by us).
  • Commercial information — products purchased, order history, payment method preference, transaction amounts.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity — browser type, pages visited, session duration, cookies and similar tracking data.
  • Geolocation data — approximate location derived from IP address (not precise geolocation unless you grant device-level permission).
  • Sensitive Personal Information (as defined by CPRA) — government-issued identification number, account login credentials in combination with security/access codes, and precise financial account number when you link a bank via Plaid. We use Sensitive Personal Information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy (KYC, transaction processing, fraud prevention) and do not use it to infer characteristics about you.

Sources. We collect Personal Information directly from you (registration, checkout), from your bank (via Plaid Link), from identity-verification providers (Plaid IDV), and automatically from your interactions with our Service (cookies, server logs).

Purposes. We use Personal Information to: provide and deliver the Service, process and ship your orders, verify your identity for KYC and anti-money-laundering compliance, prevent fraud, communicate with you about your account and orders, comply with legal obligations including financial recordkeeping (typically 7 years), and improve the Service. See the "Use of Data" section above for the complete list of purposes.

Sharing and Disclosure. In the past 12 months, Standard Bullion has disclosed Personal Information to the following categories of recipients, in each case only for the business purposes described:

  • Service providers — Plaid (identity verification, bank linking, ACH transfers); Authorize.net (credit card processing); Amazon Web Services (hosting, SMS delivery); Google (web analytics).
  • Fulfillment partner — our third-party fulfillment and vaulting partner (shipping address, name, order details necessary to fulfill the bullion shipment).
  • Government or law-enforcement authorities — when required by law or to comply with legal process.

We do not "sell" or "share" Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. As those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA, Standard Bullion does not sell Personal Information and does not share Personal Information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months and we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share Personal Information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Retention. We retain Personal Information for as long as your account is active and for an additional period necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Financial transaction records (orders, payments, ACH authorizations, identity verifications) are retained for at least seven (7) years per federal recordkeeping requirements (Bank Secrecy Act, IRS, and NACHA). Other categories are deleted or anonymized when no longer needed for the purposes for which they were collected.

Your CCPA/CPRA rights. Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to:

  • Know / Access — Request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.
  • Delete — Request that we delete Personal Information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions (including records we must retain to comply with financial recordkeeping laws).
  • Correct — Request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information we maintain about you.
  • Limit use of Sensitive Personal Information — Request that we limit our use of Sensitive Personal Information to purposes necessary to provide the Service (which is, in fact, the only way we use it).
  • Opt out of sale or sharing — We do not sell or share Personal Information; nevertheless, you may submit an opt-out request and we will honor it on a forward-looking basis.
  • Non-discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Authorized agent — You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require verification of the agent's authority before responding.

How to exercise your rights. To submit a verifiable consumer request, email privacy@standardbullion.com or call 833-376-9980 and reference "California Privacy Request." We will need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request; for account holders, this typically involves logging into your account and confirming via SMS one-time passcode. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will inform you in writing of the reason and extension period (up to an additional 45 days). There is no charge for verifiable consumer requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

"Shine the Light" (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83). California residents may request information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Standard Bullion has not disclosed Personal Information to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

SMS / Text Message Privacy Notice

If you provide your mobile phone number during account registration and consent to SMS authentication, Standard Bullion collects and uses that number solely to send one-time passcodes for account security purposes (login verification, password reset, high-value transaction confirmation).

  • What we collect: Your mobile phone number, the timestamp of your consent, and a record of each authentication code sent (without retaining the code itself after verification).
  • How we use it: Only to send authentication codes that you initiate. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
  • Who we share it with: Our SMS delivery provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS) End User Messaging / Simple Notification Service, processes the message on our behalf. AWS does not use the data for its own purposes. We do not sell or share mobile numbers, opt-in records, or consent data with any other third parties for any purpose.
  • How long we keep it: Your phone number is retained while your account is active. Authentication code records are deleted within 90 days. You may request deletion at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to any text, or disable SMS authentication from your account Security settings.
  • No third-party sharing of mobile information: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service prior to the change becoming effective and update the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
